Privacy Policy

BacktestLab is operated by Wunna, an individual based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates ("we," "us," or "our"). BacktestLab operates backtestlab.trade (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

1. Information We Collect

Account information:

• Email address
• Password (stored as a one-way cryptographic hash — we never store or have access to your actual password)
• Display name (optional)

If you sign in with Google: your Google account's email address, name, and a unique Google account identifier. We do not receive your Google password.

Usage data:

• Chart drawings and annotations you create (trendlines, Fibonacci levels, notes, etc.), stored so they persist across sessions
• Session cookies, used solely to keep you signed in — not for tracking or advertising

We do not collect payment information, as BacktestLab does not currently process payments.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information only to operate the Service:

• Authenticating you and maintaining your session
• Saving and restoring your chart drawings
• Sending account-related emails (see Section 3)

We do not use your data for advertising or ad targeting, and we do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

A note on ads: BacktestLab does not currently display advertising of any kind. If that ever changes, we will update this policy first and clearly disclose what that means for your data before any ads go live.

3. Third-Party Services

We rely on the following third parties to operate the Service. We share only the minimum information each needs to perform its function:

• Resend — sends account emails (email verification, password reset, email-change confirmation). Resend receives your email address and the content of the email being sent. See Resend's Privacy Policy.
• Google — if you choose to sign in with Google, Google's Identity Services handle authentication. See Google's Privacy Policy.

We do not share your data with any other third party.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

Your account information and drawings are retained for as long as your account exists.

You may permanently delete your account at any time from Settings → Danger Zone. Deleting your account immediately and permanently removes:

• Your account record
• All of your saved drawings
• Any pending email verification or password reset requests
• All active sessions (you and any other device you were signed in on are signed out immediately)

This action cannot be undone.

5. Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in. It contains no advertising or tracking identifiers and is not shared with any third party. It's removed when you sign out or when your session expires.

6. Data Security

Passwords are hashed using bcrypt before storage; we cannot recover or view your actual password. We take reasonable technical measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

7. Children's Privacy

BacktestLab is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above.
