Terms of Use
Last updated: July 7, 2026
BacktestLab is a free tool for backtesting trading strategies against historical data, run by one person (hi, I'm Wunna) — not a company. There are no fees, no financial services, and no real trades or transactions happen on this site. By using backtestlab.trade, you're agreeing to the plain-English terms below.
Not Financial Advice
BacktestLab is for testing strategies against historical data — that's it. Nothing on this site is financial, investment, or trading advice. A backtest doing well (or badly) doesn't tell you how a strategy will actually perform with real money in real markets. Any real-world trading or investment decisions are entirely yours — talk to a licensed professional if you need actual advice.
No Guarantees on Data or Uptime
Price data comes from third parties (like the Binance API). We don't guarantee it's complete, accurate, or always available, and the site itself can have bugs, downtime, or the occasional weird glitch. Treat it as a research tool, not a source of truth.
Using BacktestLab Fairly
It's free and we'd like to keep it that way, so please don't:
- Scrape or bulk-extract data from the site
- Try to break in, bypass security, or hammer past rate limits
- Reverse-engineer or pick apart the app
- Use the site for anything illegal
Basically — don't abuse it, and it'll keep working well for everyone.
Use at Your Own Risk
BacktestLab is provided as-is, with no warranties of any kind. We're not liable for losses, damages, or anything else arising from using — or not being able to use — the site. It's a free tool; use your own good judgment.
We Can Change or Shut This Down
This is a small, independently-run project, not a business with an SLA. We may change, pause, or discontinue BacktestLab at any time, for any reason, without notice.
Account Suspension
We can suspend or ban accounts that abuse the service or break these terms.
Changes to These Terms
We might update these terms every once in a while. Check back here if you want the latest version — the "Last updated" date above will reflect any real changes.
